Went to Sullivan's last night for a celebratory dinner. $6 validated valet parking. When you first walk in, there's a lounge/bar area to the left--pretty big and has live jazz music. They also have some outside seating if you'd like to look out over Pratt Street. The decor is what I was expecting--updated, jazz-type, steak house. The food was excellent, but I have to agree with the other review, some items were a little over-salted. They do have a couple menu for $69. You get an appy, dinner, two sides, and a dessert. We didn't go that route since we aren't that "into" dessert. We both had steaks, which were excellent and cooked perfectly. We added the gorgonzola sauce just so we could pile on more calories to this 2000+ calorie dinner. The blue cheese salad wedge that comes with all entrees was good, but again, pretty predictable. We had tuna as our appy, which was pretty good, but if you don't like mustard, you'll find the sauce to be completely overbearing. We don't usually get dessert, but ended up splitting a piece of key lime pie, which was excellent. Probably not made in house, but still good. Excellent wine list (even has magnum-sized bottles); however, there are no beers on tap. The service was excellent. It was pretty slow being a Monday night, so on a busy weekend, I'm not sure if the attention to service would be the same. Overall, we had a great time and we'll probably be back!

I've had the scallops and tilapia, and both were awesome. This place is truly a diamond in the rough for Brewer's Hill, which maintains a heavy "dive bar" vibe. And, of course, you can get Baltimore's best beer, Resurrection! Of course, being an English teacher, I love the E.A. Poe theme. My only criticism would be the music, which is too old/jazzy for my taste, but fits with the motif of the restaurant.

Blue Hill Tavern is a new restaurant and bar that opened July 3 across from the Natty Boh tower. My husband and I were actually their first "real" customers after their soft opening last week. We weren't sure about their hours, and were looking for a new happy hour spot. They didn't open until 5, but the owner was nice enough to let us in to have some drinks at the bar. As for atmosphere, this place is amazing. Large windows open up to provide an breezy atmosphere. The decor is a water theme, which was done stylishly. There are two bars and there is outside seating available. They have some great specialty cocktails, and many wines available under $25. This is a place you can go to have an upscale dining experience, or a place where you can hang out at the bar. Obviously, this place is not a "dive bar," which is traditionally what you find in this area. Some locals may find it a bit pretentious, but we found the staff to be quite friendly even though they were nervous about their opening. As for food, we only tried two dishes. One being the smoked salmon tar tare, which was presented with actual "smoke." This was delicious. The other item was parmesan "donuts" from the snack menu. These lacked flavor and I wouldn't recommend. The restaurant does have complimentary valet parking, but you can often find street parking. Good luck to this new establishment!
