Notes for Andrew:
Log in or sign up to post a noteIt's great to read reviews of neighborhood bars that have been around long before the new neighborhood moved in. Nice review. THis is what I'm looking for. Thanks. Ya got a price on the Natty Boh's? That should be a criteria for neighborhood bar reviews

The sweet potato fries were great too and the Sunday night Blue Moon specials were going down easy. Probably because we had off the next day.
I'd definitely "Rub" one out again! What?

Marie Louise Bistro
Neighborhood: Mount Vernon Category: American (Traditional)The jury is still out on Marie Louise for me. I've had carry-out lunch from there twice. The bistro-burger both times, which was very tasty topped with caramlized onions and bleu cheese on a nice crusty roll. It came with a side of garlicy fries which also hit the spot perfectly. The jury is still out on Marie Louise for me. I've had carry-out lunch from there twice. The bistro-burger both times, which was very tasty topped with caramlized onions and bleu cheese on a nice crusty roll. It came with a side of garlicy fries which also hit the spot perfectly.
The service however is a little lax. The number on their menu is incorrect takes you to their catering line. The guy who took my order on the phone seemed very unsure of himself and had me worried that I'd even get the right food. When I arrived to pick it up, there wasn't a pen for me to sign my receipt, so it took him 2 minutes to run off and find one. Not a huge deal, but not very professional either.
But all that being said, the food is tasty and the interior of this restored building looks lovely. I'm leaning heavily towards endorsing Marie Louise as a welcome addition to the Mt. Vernon dining scene.

Landmark Theatres
Neighborhood: Harbor East Category: Movies & CinemaThe BEST popcorn. You hear me? THE BEST. Oh and the theater's real nice too. I wish they'd screen a few more indie flicks like most of their counterparts rather than things like "Four Christmases" and "Yes Man", but generally if I want to see it, it's usually there. I wish they'd screen a few more indie flicks like most of their counterparts rather than things like "Four Christmases" and "Yes Man", but generally if I want to see it, it's usually there. Besides we have The Charles as our true art house cinema. So it's just nice to have a clean, comfortable, convienent theater downtown.
