Paradiso
Neighborhood: Hampden Category: Home FurnishingsI always find fantastic gifts there. They have an eye for the unique and interesting and really appreciate art and craft. Plus, stuff in every price point!

Mike McGovern’s Irish Pub
Neighborhood: Canton Category: Pubs, Bars, Dive BarsThis is undoubtedly the most Irish (or at least IRA) pub I have ever entered in the U.S., and I am Irish! Every inch of the place seems to be plastered with materials- you can't get away from the martyrs- don't even try. There's also great art and photography everywhere. This is undoubtedly the most Irish (or at least IRA) pub I have ever entered in the U.S., and I am Irish! Every inch of the place seems to be plastered with materials- you can't get away from the martyrs- don't even try. There's also great art and photography everywhere. They celebrate St. Patrick's Day, of course- but they also celebrate Bobby Sands Appreciation Day- and if you don't know who he is I wouldn't ask there! That said, I found the people there to be friendly and funny- just what you want with your pint.
They do not serve food. At all. Because of this, they allow well-behaved dogs and have the occasional dog-related fundraiser upstairs. All in all, a truly unique and fascinating bar, one you imagine existing in its state 50 or 100 years ago. A treat to find it today.
