Review for: Woodberry Kitchen

9/15/2009 user thumbnail Josh F. says:

I took my girlfriend to Woodberry Kitchen last night for our anniversary with no real expectations. From reading others reviews, I gathered that it was a great place to dine, but I was extremely impressed with the entire experience.

The restaurant has an interesting decor and architecture with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and old farm tools, but still maintains a classy atmosphere. The outside seating area also looked very nice, and on a warm night would be a great place to sit even if just having some appetizers and drinks.

They have a great variety of dishes on the menu, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had the smoked eggplant dip, the butchers plate, and a chicken flatbread with honey that was ridiculously good. My girlfriend had a few cocktails with dinner that had watermelon juice, both were a great balance of liquor and juice.

They also had a nice selection of beer on tap, featuring some really good IPAs, I had been wanting to try the Smuttynose IPA and the Clay Pipe Backfin IPA for a while, and I had both at dinner for a reasonable price. (Liked the Smuttynose better, more hops...).

Our waiter Kyle paced everything perfectly, was there to help us whenever we needed anything and accommodated anything we asked for politely and in a timely matter; also we never once felt rushed. For dessert they brought us champagne and our plate of delicious sweet potato cake read "Happy 2nd Anniversary" in chocolate.

I would recommend Woodberry Kitchen to anybody, it has definitely won me over and is one of the best places I have been in Baltimore!
