I can't say that I have ever had a really good experience here but I have only been twice. Both times though the service was ok and the food was good but the food seemed to be a little overpriced and the staff always seemed like they were trying to rush you out the door. After the 2nd time I just haven't found the right reason to go back in there and have a meal or a beer so maybe it has changed since.

A big group of folks went here for Sunday brunch and were pretty impressed. The highlight of the meal was the crab melts and their bloody mary's. I wasn't too crowded for brunch, it was decently quiet, and the place looks swanky. It's a good spot to enjoy a $3.50 bloody mary where they really think about the mixers in the drink, and when you ask for it spicy you better be ready for what you get. I was feeling uninspired and just went with a burger. The burger was a bit overcooked, but the bun was a nice fresh bread and their fries were excellent - overall a good effort.

About a year ago I came here after it just opened and wasn't too impressed. Saute seems to be coming into their own and I look forward to heading back here.

if you would like to have a nice meal and then catch a movie or show RUN RUN for your life. we had a horrible experience at Saute. In one hour we did not recieve a morsel of bread or our appetizer. or entrees. Finally we had to leave to catch our show at the creative allaince (which is fabulous!!) the owner demanded in front of a crowed resturant that we had to take our 3 appetizers and entrees to go--imagine mussels, ceasar salad, soup etc etc to go. to top it off-one of ther entrees was not in the bag once we checked it out 3 hours after our show and starved from not eating! i have wrtitten the owner and the chef. I have called for a simple credit to my account or the resturant --no response!! i'm still waiting. worst servive and experience we have ever had and we have dined all over Baltimore for decades. BEWARE. PS the food was not even good--grant it it was mushy and cold. I will write again if anybody bothers to make amends. PPS I still tipped the waiter though he should have warned us the kitchen was in the weeds./

The grilled Caesar salad is AWESOME. They take whole romaine leaves and literally put in on the grill, so it's served warm and has a great flavor to it. The dressing only makes it better.

We work @ Dap on Boston Street and a group of 12 went to Saute for our Holiday lunch. Each of us ordered something different and loved it. I ordered the Veal Ravioli and it was devine. Will go back, highly recommend. The decor is warm and friendly, service was excellant.

Is it wrong to give my "best crabcakes in B'more" award to a place that's only been open for a month? Despite a few rumors, and months wondering if this place would ever open, I'm happy to report that we have another great addition to the Canton/Fells dining scene! It's not quite as innovative as Jack's or Salt, but we definitely enjoyed solid dishes with fresh ingredients.

Okay. Back to the crabcake: I don't think "jumbo lump" actually does justice to these two piles of crabmeat, only loosely held together with sauce and seasoning. We also had a delicious Thai Shrimp appetizer, with two jumbo prawns and a smattering of little shrimp bits on top of something crunchy, deep-fried, and ever so tasty. Another good sign? An ahi tuna entree that's only seared on one side. Yes, one side. Perfect.

Given that all of this was my second impression of Saute - the first being an over-crowded bar where we couldn't get a table - I'm so glad that things have settled down slightly and people are filling the dining room. I'm keeping an eye on this one.
