I am 1/2 Greek (on my mother's side) so I have been eating Greek food for a long time. My mother also grew up in Greektown and I have to say that Samos has some of the best Greek food here in Baltimore. If you are going for lunch you better get there before noon and if you are going for dinner get there before 6-6:30. They do BYOB so you can bring your own wine which is nice. My usual go-tos there are the Greek salad with anchovies and either the lamb soulvaki or the gyro, both are excellent and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Couple that with the reasonable prices and you can see why this place is always so busy.

Good Greek food......... and it's cheap! The basics are all yummy- Malitzanosalata, Olive Tapenade, Hummus, the Traditional Greek Salad, any of the wraps and Baklava- all delicious.

Over-rated. Probably, as the reviews indicate, the best greek in Baltimore, unfortunately, that is not saying much. Not worth going out of your way for unless you are really looking for a Greek fix.

For appetizers their hummus is good, but their saganaki is ab fab with the grilled pitas that accompany it. They have the best Greek in the city, and as Tom said, definitely try the salad. If you order a meal it comes with, and make sure you slather the salad with their homemade Greek dressing.
For the meals you can pick anything as you really can't go wrong. I usually get the Souvlaki, but other memorable foods are the Gyro, Shrimp Plaka, their salads for a whole meal, the Pastitsio, and even their whole fish. If you are going with a bunch of Samos/Greek newbies, the Taste of Samos is great, though it requires a minimum of two people.
And the best part? BYOB, w/ a $2 corking fee. I love places where I can drink cheap. :-)
A few recommendations:
1. Bring cash. They don't accept credit, so if you don't have cash you may end up washing dishes to pay the bill.
2. The place doesn't have much ambience. If you are looking for some fancy schmancy Greek food, go to Mezze.
2. Be prepared to wait. On a weekend night, I'd expect at least an hour wait. I've even waited 30-45 minutes for lunch on a weekend. We pondered going elsewhere, but the place is worth the wait.

Highly recommend their greek salad...the homemade dressing is killer. For the best deal, order a large samos special salad. It comes with one souvlaki, but you can add additional ones and it's cheaper than getting them separate. All their souvlaki is phenom, but the lamb and shrimp are the best. And don't get me started on the pita.
For less than $20, you too can experience gastronomic delight. Just make sure you bring cash (no credit cards) and get there early. They close at 9pm and long waits aren't uncommon on the weekend.
