Other than that, slightly more upmarket selection from the other two city Safeways, with marginally better service. Prices and sales are standard, though feel underwhelming.

As far as Baltimore Supermarkets go, this one is better than average. Having said that, I think that considering it's location the place should be a whole lot better. If you ever been unlucky enough to use the bathroom at Safeway you understand. I hate going in there as I am reminded that this disgusting filth is but a few feet from the food that I take home. I understand that cleaning the bathroom is the worst job that probably exists in the supermarket but, do your job. I have to agree that there are some bizarre shortages on certain products. Products that I am certain are also popular with other folks. Just bad business all around. But, having said all of that, I will continue to go to Safeway until there is another supermarket 200 feet from my house... so forever.

    Regards,

    Fixer

Safeway gets three stars because the very concept of a supermarket is still an impressive one. Otherwise, it's the worst supermarket ever. I can't get spinach past the front door without it going bad.

Though I understand the points of the other reviewers, living in SoWeBo and having OUR Safeway, or as we call it Unsafeway, I LOVE going to the one in Canton. A bit pricier, yes, but rarely if ever have I seen bugs, and I don't have to go through a metal detector to enter. And the people are just so much prettier...

And the people are just so much prettier over there.

Oh how I loathe Safeway. When I head into it's hallowed halls I am usually met with empty shelves of the item that I really want to buy, and the prices here are much higher that the grocery stores elsewhere. That said, I keep coming back. This is the only store in the area that has a mix of tolerable prices for low end items, and has some higher end items in stock. For most higher end items I'd suggest heading to Whole Foods or some other place, that is if you can afford it.

While the sights at the safeway are lovely, seeing as it is mostly young single folks getting their shop on, it's really the only good thing I can say about here.

Hopefully Safeway cleans up it's act one day or a Harris Teeter opens up nearby. :-)

Ack, Safeway! I agree: there are at least 2 things it is consistently out of - bananas, and salad mix. After work on a Friday? Don't even bother. And why must they close off their food and salad bar at 8pm?
