Definitely my best Italian experience in Baltimore. The dining room is unassuming-it doesn't look like the food will be amazing, but once you order, you will think differently. I took a group of friends to Piedigrotta, and they were skeptical at first, but by the end of the meal every one of them were believers. Owned and run by an Italian couple, all of the food is made from scratch. The menu is not extensive; there are usually a few basics to choose from: lasagna, subs, pasta dishes etc... but I have never been disappointed. And the desserts! There is a huge selection of Italian goodness to pick from. This is the perfect place to go alone and drink coffee, for a casual date, or for a relaxed meal with friends.
