I had the lobster over sauteed spinach with a corn custard and a bacon butter. It was delicious--but it was gone in about five minutes! Granted--I eat pretty quickly. But this should have been just an appetizer. At $22.00 for an entree, I don't expect to leave a restaurant hungry. At least include a salad and bread! This dish should have been served over pasta to make it more filling and worth the money.
I like to get value for my money. Peter's did not deliver. My advice: increase your portion size or lower your prices.

As I told my friend's last week, "This place has balls the size of church bells".
I was really looking forward to dinner at Peter's Inn. I had been there numerous times over the years, and always had a positive experience. Food and drink have consistently been well above par, and always evenly priced. Which is why I would normally recommend it to friend's as place they can go on a regular basis.
Not anymore!
Started off with an "ALL FRENCH" wine list that featured offerings by the glass. Most of which could be purchased at $9 a bottle at a nice retail store, but were served up $9 a GLASS by the management at Peter's Inn. I'm not knocking french wine, but this technique of offering off/off brand, low budget wines at outrageous prices is simply ripping off the customers. This is not unique to only Peter's. In fact it happens at many places, however when you ask your server if a particular wine is is sweet like a Grigio or slightly dry, the answer should not be just; "It's really good". Dude, come up with something better than that.
You'll leave hungry if you order the Seared Tuna. (Four 1-inch slices of tuna? c'mon!!) Should have been served as an appetizer for $9.50, rather than offering it as a entree for $17.50. Just embarrassing!
New York Strip was tough and had zero flavor, and appeared to be broiled not grilled. The filet was simply removed from the strip and re-purposed as "Filet Mignon" on the menu. (Amateur)
What's with the garlic bread? A friend suggested Peter's was known for excellent garlic bread. Sadly it was garlic powder and butter on 2-day old bread. I should have gone down to the frozen food isles at Safeway for some Texas Toast.
Overall: Dinner for 3, with 4 glasses of wine $200 with tip. Above average price for far below average food. Sorry, never again.

A great place to bring friends who will inevitably thank you for giving them the experience.

Just had yet another great meal at Peter's Inn, which is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. We go early -- at 5:30 or so -- and wait for the kitchen to open at 6:30. There are so few tables and even bar seats there that it's the only way to avoid what can be a long line. The menu changes frequently, but the food is always fresh and interesting, from long-time favorites like shrimp and grits to perfectly prepared lamb and even raw tuna. Recent desserts were the must-have chocolate pot de creme (this time with espresso sorbet) and not-too-sweet individual pecan pies. Service is casual but efficient. Peters is tiny and jammed full of eclectic artwork, stuffed fish and other strange but entertaining stuff. The best of Baltimore -- quirky and without pretension.

I have never been disappointed in the presentation, seasoning, or flavor at Peter's Inn. A must visit restaurant for every Baltimore foodie.

Peter's Inn is my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. They always seem to take things I either don't think would go well together, or things I flat out don't like and make me love them. For instance, friends and I used to live in the Deep South, and even then we don't like grits. Peter's serves cheese grits with a few dishes. We thought we'd be dissappointed, but these things are awesome. Now we look for any dish that has them.
For main courses, you can't go wrong with the scallops. While you don't get a ton of them, they are VERY large, and cooked to perfection. The steak is an old reliable if you're feeling unadventurous, but I recommend trying something with lamb in it or one of their odd combinations - they always seem to impress me.
The staff is attentive, and the decorations eclectic. A few examples are the photo of a woman peeing on a man in the men's bathroom, the prosthetic limbs on the wall, or the painting of Jesus juxtaposed in front of a Mack truck. I like it it's laid back vibe but it may not be for the more conservative crowd.
Please note the menu is small, and while is allows the kitchen to focus on a few things and to it well, if the menu isn't too you're liking you are out of luck. I highly suggest checking their webiste before going to make sure they have something you want.
