Yum! A little crowded and loud.

Went on a lazy sunday morning when I was craving tacos. I'd never been before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Initially I'd been craving classic style double-wrap tacos. Unfortunately for me there wasn't anything like this on the menu. Most of the food is more complicated or dressed up tex-mex then authentic Mexican. Don't misunderstand me though, this isn't a bad thing.

The food is spectacular. I ordered the buffalo shrimp taco and my guest ordered the blackened halibut taco. Both were above par to say the least. The buffalo shrimp taco was enormous and has so much shrimp that I ended up eating the first half with a fork, because it was impossible to actually pick up off the plate. It was also served with very fresh cheese and greens in the taco and rice and beans on the place. The beans were good, but nothing to write home about. To be fair though, the taco was so good that I barely touched the side items.

Her taco was of the blackened halibut variety and was easily an 8/10. The fish was cooked PERFECTLY and in large pieces instead of small chunks, which I thought was easier to eat.

As for decor and atmosphere I give it a B+. Typical baltimore bar decor, big boh signs and plenty of Baltimore Colts memorabilia. This would be a good place to take out of towners to, so they can see a cool cross section of Baltimore sports history.

Love Nacho Mama's! I go there at least once a month, and have never had a bad food experience so I can't relate to the hit or miss comments. I always get the chicken chesapeake quesadille and my boyfriend get chicken nachos. It never disappoints!

Stick with the Quesadillas and you can't go wrong, and the margaritas, mmmmm.

The menu is a bit overwhelming but all the food I've tried is good. Whenever we are in the mood for authentic chili, this is where we go. The chili is filling so it is hard to try too many other dishes.

I'm a huge fan of Nacho Mama's, and have been since my first visit there. I can't speak for the hit-or-miss quality of the food that other reviewers experienced, as I generally order the same two or three things, and they're always great. The portions are thyroidal; a Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla and a hubcap of margaritas generally puts a positive spin on my weekend lunch visit.

I thought the food is really pretty good with large portions. Only problem i have with Nacho Mamas is the confined space it's in. On the weekends it's hard to even get one seat at the bar. The staff is really friendly though and probably half the people are visiting from out of town.

I have to agree with Corey, while you get huge portions, the food really is hit or miss. the atmosphere is really fun though, which is why ill probably go back and why you should check it out at least once. there's a lot of little quirky touches, i notice something new every time i visit. plus it's hard to pass up a margarita in a hubcap, even when you're not big on tequila like me :) If you check it out be prepared to wait a little bit, it's a small place and they're normally busy!

I want to love Nacho Mama's. It's obsession with Elvis, the Baltimore (NOT Indiana)Colts, and Journey being played every night at 10 pm are all charming. I want to love it, but I just can't.

The food is hit or miss. In baseball hitting .300 is the sign of a decent hitter. If Nacho Mama's met this average, I'd visit more. While at times I have been extremely impressed, like with some of their quesadillas, soups or paella (shockingly!). Most other times I have been underwhelmed by their burritos and quesadillas.

At times I crave a Natty Boh and some Journey, or the ladyfriend and I feel like foregoing dinner and sharing their lovely hubcap margarita. I'm not quite sure why a it's in a hubcap and not a large glass. I'd question it, but it's the things like this that make Nacho Mama's charming and the reason that I'll come back.
