Mr. Rain's Fun House is worth the visit even if you don't plan to walk through the AVAM (American Visionary Art Museum). The service is attentive, the atmosphere visually fascinating and the food is fabulous! To start, the lumpia and panko oysters melt in your mouth. For the main course, I enjoyed the sea scallops and was able to try a bite of the salmon which was also delicious. Main entrees offer a nice range in pricing from $14 up to $25. Highly recommend checking it out.

A fun place at the AVAM and a spectacularly delicious experience for the palate. We remember just how much my wife and I enjoyed the Sputnik restaurant in Crownsville and couldn't wait until the owners opened Mr. Rain's Fun House. The menu is Sputnikian eclectic and familiarly infused with Asian influences. My wife had the roasted pork tenderloin with acorn squash and kale and I had a pan seared Tazmanian salmon with jicama mash and French green beans. Everything was just perfect and the personality of each food ingredient was maintained as was the glass of wine recommended with the course. We started with lumpia and crab and mango tartar and of course I had to have the purple yam soup. I was in epicurean heaven. Make sure and check out the carousel and the animal heads on the columns! Funky decor for such a fun place.
