I love Minato. Sushi Hana used to be my fav place back when I lived in Towson. However when I moved here this became my new pick practically overnight. Their sushi is top notch and the staff is quite friendly. I love spicy tuna and theirs is the greatest I've had outside of Hawaii. They also have a great happy hour.

I go there roughly weekly.

Friendly and knowledgeable. Head sushi chef Richard is darling, and exemplary. His counter tatakis are immaculately prepared and impeccably seasoned. Rolls are a cut above. Nigiri is generous, and perfect. Hot kitchen is underrated. Cocktails are dreamy. Spaces are eclectic: a bright, neon future-Tokyo fantasia up front; dark, moody, intimate, and sexy in back.

Disclosure: friends with the management, but then, in this town, who isn't?

I found Minato simply walking down Charles Street one day. It took me a few weeks before I decided to go it, but I am so glad that I did. First and foremost the staff at Minato is outrageously polite and friendly. They have a great dynamic and make you feel like a friend from the moment you step in. The food is also extremely good. Their shrimp wontons are the perfect appetizer. My favorite sushi selection has to be the Arizona roll or the Tsunami roll (it has mango on it!). Try this place out. You will not regret it. By far the most customer friendly and high quality sushi place in Charm City.
