ummm... 3 beers for 4 bucks AND 30 cent wings on wednesday? sign me up.

Mahaffey's has Great beer and Great people (the bartenders are way nice). It's like Canton's version of Cheers, only smaller and better. The sliders and wings are pretty darn good too.

If I could give Mahaffey's 3.5 stars, I would. But I can't. And here's why...

After living in Canton for a while I've come to loathe the square and the people that frequent it. Sure it can be tolerable when (a) it's a weeknight, and there are only a few locals in it (b) I'm completely shitfaced and my friends dragged me there. For all the other times, I am looking for a place that is comfy and cozy with a good neighborhood bar feel that isn't filled with the suburbs folks. Mahaffey's is this place for me, and I definitely go there for the atmosphere. You can tell it has it's regulars who not only know the stuff, but also know each other.

The best part about Mahaffey's is the beer. They have a rotating tap of tasty fancy beers, for not so fancy prices. At happy hour you can get 3 small beers for $5. Now THAT is a happy hour. The food there has run the gamut. I've had a really good burger there, and had a really dry burger that tasted like the coals it was cooked on. I may try the food again, but only after a few happy hour specials. :-)

Also, the service at Mahaffey's is excellent.
