Review for: Geisha Sushi Bar
I've been going to this place since the first week it opened, and it is my #1 favorite sushi bar in the city. An excellent downtown alternative to Edo Sushi.
The prices are reasonable and the sushi quality is high. The most expensive specialty rolls are $12, and the regular rolls average $4 - $5. There are two rolls my friends and I always order: Geisha/Ginza rolls (eel or salmon, cream cheese, tamago, tobiko, cucumber, and avocado + more, deep fried with a drizzle of sweet sauce), and the spicy tuna roll (they use homemade creamy spicy sauce instead of siracha, and it has fresh chopped scallions that give it a slight bite). Other regular customers we've talked to while there swear by the spicy tuna tartar (which does use the siracha - the mere smell makes my eyes water). Lunch comes with soup and salad, and dinner comes with a cucumber salad.
There are also Korean specialties on the menu. There is a Korean buffet at lunchtime which I've seen, but haven't had a chance to try. Plus, I'm such a sushi-head that I always get distracted.
The service here is always good, and if you come regularly they will remember you. It is not unusual that they will bring you a sample of something free of charge - a new roll, or a new menu item they are trying. On different visits we've had samples of the tuna tartar, a New York roll (featuring apples), mussel soup, and other dishes.
Lastly, they just received their liquor license, and have a great selection of sakes, wines, and Korean and Japanese beers. Try the Choya plum sake - absolutely delicious.

I totally forgot about this place! I went there once when it first opened, but since I stopped working in that area I haven't been back. Good to see it's getting regulars now. I'll have to go back soon!
Great review! Never knew about this place but it sounds great. Will definitely have to check it out. Thanks.
