I've got to agree with Tom B. in most every way.

I get an Italian Cold Cut from there once a week and it is remarkable, plus only $5.95. For a filling made sub with quality meat and cheese that was sliced right in front of you, it can't be beat ... take that Subway with your annoying commercials.

As Tom B. said, this is by no means a daily grocery store. It is quite expensive. However they always have some excellent specials that are not to be overlooked. Check for the little sale signs for good prices. It's also a good place to get decent, cheap wine. Every month they have wine sales where they've got 2 for $8-12 bottles or 3 for $9-15 bottles. Great way to stock up.

Deli - huge overstuffed subs - best I've had in Baltimore. I love their store turkey and chicken salad.

Grocery - I wouldn't do my weekly shopping here - I treat it as more of a convenience store because it's priced that way.

They have a lot of stuff in that little community grocery store though.

Eddie's is a terrific, family owned market in historic Mount Vernon. Perfect for grabbing those few forgotten condiments for a salad or a fresh handmade sandwich from a real deli, rather than a "sub chain". As a vegetarian, I was excited to see a large selection of veggie friendly name brands, organic produce and goods, at a reasonable price. One added bonus: pretty good selection of beer and wine. Who doesn't love to market and get everything all in one trip?!! Good salad bar and fresh coffee make this a definite treat during the week.
