Went for lunch, but wish I had more time to look around the shop, where there were all sorts of things to look at you that don't get to see at Safeway each week.

Deli (it's over to the right) had sooo many things on the menu I'd want to try. (Old World sandwich = yumzie)
What they say about the meatball sandwich is true -- as he ate his, my friend was being watched, enviously, by the 400+ lb. gentleman sitting nearby. He asked about it, later.

There MIGHT be a better Italian deli in the city, but I'm not going to waste any time looking for it, when I could be eating at this one.
If I'm overly enthusiastic, it's only because I wish I could escape the office to have lunch there more often.

Love this place! Their meatball sub is like 2-3 meals, EASY.

I LOVE Di Pasquale's. I live very close and my husband and I grab lunch here just about every Saturday whenever possible.

I'm a vegetarian so I always get the Calabrese sandwich (sans cheese) and it's truly addicting. My husband has probably tried every sandwich on the menu and has always had a great experience.

It's a great little grocery store too!

Di Pasquale's is the Dean & Deluca of Baltimore. Joe Di Pasquale is passionate about authentic Italian food. You can still get American-Italian guilty pleasures like their over stuffed meatball sub but it's items like the Old World Italian sandwich and brick oven pizza that will ultimately win you over. While your at it pick up some of their home made mozzarella and sausage then top it off with a expertly made espresso with proper crema. To really top it off make it a cafe corretto.

Awesome subs........I love the the Marcella Caprese- crusty bread, homemade mozzarella and fresh basil/tomatoes.

Our office has been getting lunch there pretty regularly now, and everyone really likes their food. The meatball sub, in the Italian roll is excellent (a good deal too) and the lasagna is very good. The only disappointment so far has been the Italian sub, it just has not lived up to our expectations.

I heart their meatball sub. Served in a hollowed out half-loaf of Italian bread, this baby comes with like 10 huge delicious meatballs. It's definitely a two-hand job. That didn't sound right. Anyway, if you don't mind a face full of homemade marinara (how did it get on my forehead!?), you won't be disappointed. I posted some photos as seeing is believing!

I'm not sure why it took me so long to discover Di Pasquale's as I live nearby, but I have 600block to thank! Such a great neighborhood spot with a ton of homemade subs, pastas, pizza and more. They even have nice looking produce/veggies, wine and other Italian grocery items. Oh yea, the Tiramisu was equally delicious. I will be returning here for sure!

I had heard of Di Pasquale's, but figured an Italian joint in Highlandtown (not in Little Italy) couldn't be that good. I was wrong.

I've only been there once and can't wait to go back again. I ended up getting the full size meatball sub. It was less a sub, and more a bread cave filled with meat. It has since been dubbed the meat cave. I'm not normally a fan a meatballs as they're usually bland hunk'o'meat, and the sauce usually served in a sub is a boring marinara from a can. These meatballs had a great flavor and the sauce was to die for. I know I should try something else when I go back, but I'm not sure I can make myself do it.

The other folks in the party got some sandwich with pastrami and cole slaw on it. I can't remember the name of it, but they raved about it for the rest of the weekend.

As an aside, they also have Absinthe. I thought it was illeagal, but apparently not anymore. I can't wait to try it...

This place is amazing! It feels like you are in Italy, and the sandwiches are out of this world. I keep meaning to get some groceries there some night and pretend I am making dinner in Europe somewhere. Make sure you grab a KinderEgg at the counter when you pay - they are worth the price! I would get my lunch every day from these guys if I wasn't keeping an eye on calories!
