Extremely promising. New American menu is audacious, sometimes bordering on faddish, though largely well-executed. Short ribs and the grilled quail are particular highlights. My friend and I split the crab cake dinner and it was awesome. Plenty of lump crab meat, the right mix of Old Bay and not much bread. Nice venue.

AWESOME. Best new place in Baltimore. It's like stepping into a bar in Manhattan. Very nicely decorated. Good staff. Excellent place to be "seen" (If you're into that).

Great Place!!! Was really surprised. Menu is fresh and different enough to be interesting, but still safe enough not to scare anybody off. Food is reasonably priced, $12 for a Kobe burger!?!? Nice!!! I tried a dessert tonight and it was phenomenal. When you walk in you would think it would be a lot more expensive than it is. $5.50 - $6.00 for a 22 oz High-End draft. The upstairs is unbelievable, especially the out-door balcony. The staff is motivated and really well trained. I was concerned that this place would be too stuffy and would run itself out of business, but I was definitely proven wrong. This place is awesome and definitely here to stay.
Went back a second night and sat out on the patio. Ordered their Silken Chololate Pie dessert and it was incredible. A little expensive at $8, but more than big enough for 2 people to share. Drinks definitely are strong there, so you don't have to worry about them screwing you on alcohol. Great service.

Blue Hill Tavern is a new restaurant and bar that opened July 3 across from the Natty Boh tower. My husband and I were actually their first "real" customers after their soft opening last week. We weren't sure about their hours, and were looking for a new happy hour spot. They didn't open until 5, but the owner was nice enough to let us in to have some drinks at the bar. As for atmosphere, this place is amazing. Large windows open up to provide an breezy atmosphere. The decor is a water theme, which was done stylishly. There are two bars and there is outside seating available. They have some great specialty cocktails, and many wines available under $25. This is a place you can go to have an upscale dining experience, or a place where you can hang out at the bar. Obviously, this place is not a "dive bar," which is traditionally what you find in this area. Some locals may find it a bit pretentious, but we found the staff to be quite friendly even though they were nervous about their opening. As for food, we only tried two dishes. One being the smoked salmon tar tare, which was presented with actual "smoke." This was delicious. The other item was parmesan "donuts" from the snack menu. These lacked flavor and I wouldn't recommend. The restaurant does have complimentary valet parking, but you can often find street parking. Good luck to this new establishment!
