Staff is great, I love the way it was decorated. The food is a little more expensive than most Canton bars and the place always seems to be jam packed with people. But the food is very very tasty and worth the wait!

Currently at the top of my list for places I would recommend in the city. It's a corner pub, and tight on space, but they do have outdoor seating, and the food is simply terrific. One of, if not THE best restaurant overall in Baltimore. A hidden gem. They deserve it.

Annabel Lee consistently has great food and service. The food is excellent--nachos, blue cheese coleslaw, duck fat fries, Greek salad--all are highly recommended. The chef's specials are great, too. I've had the scallops and tilapia, and both were awesome. This place is truly a diamond in the rough for Brewer's Hill, which maintains a heavy "dive bar" vibe. And, of course, you can get Baltimore's best beer, Resurrection! Of course, being an English teacher, I love the E.A. Poe theme. My only criticism would be the music, which is too old/jazzy for my taste, but fits with the motif of the restaurant.

Annabel looks like a standard baltimore corner bar but once inside you immediately see the difference- one TV and I have never seen it on, big band/40's music in the background and a decor in honor of Edgar Allan Poe-- even the superb Raven Special Lager on tap. Throw in great food and a very helpful staff and Kurt the owner and you have a five star place to call home away from home.

This is the kind of bar that makes me want to move to the neighborhood so it can be my neighborhood hangout. It was my first time there and when I walked in the customers seated at the bar and the staff said hello. Everything about it was outstanding except they were unable to accomodate our party of 5 for dinner at a table and we had to eat at the bar. A minor issue perhaps but is tough to have a conversation among 5 people seated linearly instead of around a table. But by all means go and enjoy the food, drinks (especially Raven Lager), service, and atmosphere.

Great place. I've never ordered anything I didn't like. The sliders, duck fat fries, sweet potato fries, gyros- all delicious. The service is great. The only downside is that it gets pretty packed on the weekends, so the wait can be a little long. Plan your first visit for a week night to avoid crowds.

This place is truly a hidden gem. The first time I went there I had the Rosemary Beef Gyro (a very out of character order for me) and it was excellent. My only question is when is it expanding?? I heard they are opening an upstairs. Is this just a rumor?

Seriously, everything from the service to the food to the drinks/beer selection to the atmosphere are excellent. Be sure to get there earlier than later to secure a table. If you can do dinner before 6pm or after 9pm, chances are you'll get a table right away. Otherwise, there can be a long wait....but boy oh boy, is it worth the wait!

So, I finally made it to Annabel Lee Tavern on a mild Saturday night in December. Walking through the fog of the evening Canton streets, light from the corner of S Clinton & Fleet beaconed me. Being such a fan of Brewers Art, I had high hopes of this new venture of Kurt Bragunier and he does not disappoint. Walking into Annabel Lee I discover a finely renovated space which looks turn of the century, yet still feels modern, a perfect symmetry that is hard to create. The bar area is a classic tavern design of wood and dark colors. The crowd is massive on this night and we have to wait about twenty minutes for a table. Sidling up to the bar for a Resurrection relaxes my worries of any delay for the fine food I have been craving. The tables are of the bar style and small with stools. We start with the Duck Fat Fries, crispy, well seasoned, artery hardening goodness. We also try two of the specials, the North Italian Chicken Sandwich (grilled chicken breast, pancetta and provolone on fresh ciabatta with a creamy caesar aioli) and the Crab Stuffed Shrimp & Grits. The perfectly grilled chicken, crispy pancetta and oozing provolone create a symphony of flavors and textures. The creamy grits surrounding the jumbo lump filled large shrimp are superb, Did I mention how creamy the grits are?! With no room for dessert, I have another Resurrection, the perfect end to such a fine meal.
