We love this place! It's a "must stop" on our Fells agenda every time. The drink prices are more than reasonable although I would call ahead to make sure they are open.

This is an unbelievably fabulous place. My brother used to live within walking distance of the 1919 in the early 80's. When I visited we often spent a good deal of time at the bar. I recall being there on the day he learned that he had passed his medical boards. When I urged him to buy the bar a round in celebration of his accomplishment he was hesitant for fear he did not have enough cash on him to pay the bill. I assured him that I would cover whatever he was short so he ordered up a round. I am guessing there were about 7 or 8 people in the bar, nearly all of them sucking down Milwaukee's Bests. The tab came to like $7.50, which he easily covered. You should go to the 1919. I have recently tried to contact the bar in hopes of getting a t-shirt, but their phone number does not accept incoming calls. And I know the odds of them actually having t-shirts is miniscule, but you never know.
