Why the name 600block?

Writing Reviews

What can I review?
Right now, you can review most Baltimore city places with a physical address. This includes restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, music venues, art galleries, museums, theaters, etc. If you don't see the place you are looking for, please add it.

Can I review a place that I am connected to?
Yes, but you must explicitly disclose any personal or professional connection to the place. For example, if you are an owner, employee or promoter, you need to disclose that in your review. In addition, you must disclose any relevant personal connections (friends with owner, etc).

What if the place I'm reviewing gave me free or discounted stuff?
It's important to disclose any special treatment (freebies, discounts, etc) you received. We always want to make sure our readers have all the facts when reading a review.

If I had a bad experience, can I say something negative?
Yes, definitely. We want to hear about both your good and bad experiences. Please be sure to explain why you had a bad experience and include all the related details.

Does 600block remove reviews?
Rarely. However, a review will likely be removed if we find it includes one or more of the following:

  • Disclosure problems. If you are connected to the place, you must say so in your review.
  • Hearsay. Your review must be based on first-hand experience and not what you heard from friends or others.
  • Personal issues with staff. For example, you can't criticize a bar because a bartender wouldn't date you. If the bartender provided poor service, that's fair game.
  • Personal attacks. No name calling, threats or other personal attacks.
  • Slurs and prejudice. We strictly prohibit prejudicial comments about gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or other protected-class groups.
